Aimed at supervisors who want to develop and nurture their staff, set them up for success and encourage them to take responsibility.

FORMAT

Half day accelerated workshop followed by post course e-prompts and buddy coaching to help integrate learning into day-to-day behaviours. Practical and interactive. Includes group work and work in pairs. Max recommended group size 15.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN DO AS A RESULT

• Identify the type of supervisor you want to be and the skills you will build on going forward
• Take stock of your role and shape it for maximum benefit
• Decide what to do at each stage in the life-cycle of the team
• Discover whether you are a natural ‘nurturer’ or ‘challenger’ and learn how to do both in order to give great feedback and develop your people
• Decide what is appropriate for you to delegate and who you will delegate to
• Explore the different preferences people have for organising themselves and others and learn how this affects perceptions of trust and levels of anxiety
• Determine when instruction is useful and when it is counter productive
• Diagnose the development level of the person you are supervising
• Match the appropriate supervisory style to the person and the task to achieve results
